The starting point
After a lean audit, tools needed a purpose built home

Polytex is an Australian tarpaulin manufacturer based in Leeton NSW, producing covers and industrial fabrics for agriculture, industrial and commercial applications.
Following a lean manufacturing audit, the team identified a clear opportunity: the way tools and equipment were stored and managed on site. They needed a supplier that could build a custom solution for their specific tools rather than fit an off the shelf setup around them.
What 5trak built
On site measuring and boards matched to the exact tools
Searching for a supplier that could make the process easy and deliver something purpose built, Polytex chose 5trak. Our team came on site, measured everything up and created a custom shadow board solution designed around the exact tools the team uses.
Each board was engineered from the real equipment list, so positions, holders and labels matched the work. The design process removed guesswork: what you see on the board is what the operator reaches for on the job.
On site measuring against the real tool list
Purpose built design, no off the shelf compromise
Custom holders for non standard tools
Delivered and handed over in place
After our lean manufacturing audit, we needed a better way to organise our custom tools and equipment. 5Trak made the process extremely easy by coming on site, measuring everything up and delivering a solution tailored to exactly what we needed. The result has dramatically increased efficiencies, saving some of our teams up to 30 minutes a day and helping improve productivity.

The outcome
A visual system that supports the lean habits the audit set out to build
Polytex reports that some teams save significant time each day now that equipment has a defined place, with that time going back into the work rather than into hunting for tools.
The boards also created a cleaner, more organised and more visual workspace, which reinforces the lean habits the audit was designed to build. The improvement is visible on the wall, not buried in a report.
